About The Club

What We Do

Peterhead Sailing Club is located at The Lido, Peterhead. We are a dinghy club with primary activities including racing and cruising from the Bay of Refuge and Marina. Our clubhouse and dinghy park are conveniently situated a short distance from the water. The sheltered waters of the Lido and bay provide safe conditions that allow us to enjoy the water in a variety of weather, making the venue ideal for both experienced sailors and beginners.

Our dedicated committee organises a full calendar of activities each season, ensuring there is something for all members to enjoy and participate in. The club works closely with other organisations to promote a positive boating community in Peterhead.

Currently our community includes sailors, windsurfers, wingsurfers, foilers, powerboaters, paddlers, and rowers who enjoy their activities at Peterhead throughout the year.

Our Facilities

  • Our clubhouse with solar panels

    Club House

    We’ve got a clubhouse with solar panels and battery storage so we can generate, use and store our energy. We have showers to warm you up after a sail at any time. Our lighting is now fully Led.

  • Our boat park at peterhead

    Boat Parking

    We have a secure boat park with a wide variety of members dinghies. Members can keep their own dinghies for a price per year, spaces can be applied for throughout the year here on our website.

  • Solar Pannels

    A set of 14 PV panels were fitted to the south slope of the clubhouse roof. They are connected to an inverter in the roof space which feeds a Tesla battery wall for energy storage. The Tesla unit has an internet connection so that the status of charge and energy use history can be viewed via a mobile app.

  • Upstairs Space

    We have a multi use space upstairs for our members and affialted organisations to use, this has soft seating aswell as office style table and seating. With a large glass window to enjoy the view of the bay and marina.

On The Water

  • Peterhead Lido

    Marina

    The marina offers sheltered water for all sailors, especially when it’s really windy! The marina is a enclosed area where out power boats are berthed. All boats launch from the marina on our slip way that leads from the club through the car park.

    We tend to use the bay for all our activities as it gives us more space for racing. The bay is still sheltered by the harbour wall and is a safe area to sail in.

    The days we can sail out with the bay are unfortunately few and far between, due to too much wind /swell or poor visibility. However, sometimes we do have a window of opportunity to expiernc the great sailing outwith

  • Power boats at peterhead

    Power Boats

    We currently have a selection of motor boats to cater for our club activities and help them run smoothly and safefully. We currently have two ribs (a Humber & a Sea-rider) and we also have a rigid hull boat (pioneer) most commonly used as our committee boat.

  • Peterhead Marina

    Our orange pioneer is now our only committee boat whilst we are looking to replace our big original we sold in 2024. It is great for setting courses and recording racing results.

Where Are We?

Peterhead Sailing Club is at The Lido, South Road, AB42 2YP. Take the turn off South Road towards the Caravan Park and Marina and you will see us on your right opposite the Lido Beach. Parking is available in our car park located next to the sailing club (What 3 Words ///motorist.documents.brisk)
