Personal Statement

Please tell us why you are interested in volunteering for a committee position.

I am happy to continue as treasurer, with 2 years of experience in this position. There are challenges not least trying to improve the accounts, so everything is electronic to reduce the burden of paperwork and make data and information readily open & accessible. Clearly a key part of the role is to seek efficiencies and reduce costs without compromising the integrity and effectiveness of the club, and maintain close relationships with our affiliates, as well as manage interfaces with our suppliers, i.e. utilities companies, Aberdeenshire Council, RYA, the port authority etc.

I will continue to be an active member of the Peterhead Sailing Club for the 2024/25 season, so I will be fully involved as I have been for several years now in club activities, with a keen interest in seeing the club and individuals succeed in their endeavors. That said I am more than happy and willing to handover to anyone who wishes to have a go at the role of treasurer.
