End Of Winter For Our Youth Group

Youth Group Winter 2024/25

Spring is here and that means our second winter with Monday Youth Group is over. All our group members from 2023/24 have stayed with us and it's been good to welcome some new young people joining us.

• Last year the activities were fairly structured with activities led by the volunteers. This time the group have organised their own activities with volunteers helping where needed. Crafts, working on engines, electronics and electrics have been popular and as you will see from the growing collection of instruments upstairs, music making has been a big hit too.

• Mondays wouldn't be the same without good food, and cooking is as popular as ever. A big thank you to Buchan Development Partnership for our Winter Warmer Grant that is helping to cover food and energy costs and also our Shell Small Grant for led lighting and new tables!

• It's been great to see our young people growing up in the club, learning new skills and getting into volunteering too.

• Early last season, two group members completed their RYA powerboat level 2 certificates and have made good use of these out on the water helping with events and activities.

• Some of the group have been servicing engines and getting the powerboats ready for the new season.

• One of our members was doing a project on recycling and you will see that he has made new posters to go above our bins and make recycling easier.

We are now back on the water for the season and the group meets after school during term time and afternoons over the holidays.
