Clubhouse Kitchen Refurbishment Complete
We are delighted to share that our clubhouse kitchen refurbishment is now complete.
The previous kitchen had served the club well for over 30 years, but it was becoming increasingly worn and no longer met the needs of the wide range of people who use our facilities. Thanks to this project, we now have a modern, practical and more accessible kitchen that will support the club and the local community for many years to come.
The new kitchen includes modern units, worktops, appliances and improved storage, creating a brighter and more welcoming space for everyone who uses the clubhouse. The layout has also been redesigned to improve accessibility, including lower-height work surfaces and a wheelchair-accessible preparation area, helping ensure more people can use the facilities independently.
Our clubhouse is used year-round by Peterhead Sailing Club as well as a number of affiliated organisations, including Aberdeenshire Sailing Trust, Bridge of Don and Peterhead Sea Cadets, the Windsurf & SUP Club and Collieston Offshore Rowing Club. The kitchen plays an important role during training sessions, youth activities, racing and social events, providing a place for volunteers, members and visitors to prepare hot drinks and meals, particularly after spending time on the water.
This project was made possible through a combination of volunteer effort and skilled local tradespeople. Club volunteers removed the old kitchen and assisted with preparation work, while qualified contractors completed the joinery, plumbing and electrical installation. Their combined efforts have transformed the heart of our clubhouse.
We would like to thank everyone who contributed their time, skills and support throughout the project. We are also extremely grateful to the funders whose investment has helped improve our facilities for current and future generations.
We look forward to welcoming members, volunteers and visitors into the new kitchen and seeing it become a well-used part of the clubhouse for many years to come.
